ABOUT THE TRIP
Lily will be traveling with a program called ACIS, which is an educational travel program that is not school or district sponsored. She will be traveling with her Jewelry/Ceramics teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Hensley, and a few other Shawnee Mission East Students.
Learning Objectives

We will learn about the unique ecosystem of Furnas and the necessity of its restoration.

We will discover why the Azores have become a center of volcanic activity.

We will be learning about the marine life that thrives in the waters around the Azores archipelago on a whale and dolphin-watching trip.

We will also have unique and amazing oportunities for creating and observing art.
